This group covers the bars, diners, family restaurants, fast-food spots and other kitchens that serve pizza alongside a broader menu. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Sports bars fill up on game nights and often run pizza-and-pitcher specials; diners and fast-food chains keep long hours, sometimes around the clock. Rose's was recommended to us by our hotel desk staff person as a place we could celebrate our anniversary with good food, but a casual dress code. Rose's fit the bill on all counts! Marcus took great care of us, was attentive without overdoing it and my ricotta cheese risotto was amazing! And the presentation was gorgeous. A generous helping that was very satisfying. I also had the gazpacho. It was a bit too spicy for me, but was very good. And the view of the lake was spectacular. I wish I would have chosen to sit outside, but still a great experience.

We recently had the chance to dine at Rose’s Restaurant in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxing meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. The highlight of our meal was definitely the root chips. They were perfectly crispy, seasoned just right, and served with a delicious dip that made them completely addictive. Every bite was fresh and flavorful, and they quickly became our favorite part of the meal. The rest of the food was equally impressive, with generous portions and high-quality ingredients that made everything taste homemade. Whether you're stopping in for lunch, dinner, or meeting up with friends, Rose’s is a fantastic local spot with great food and an enjoyable atmosphere. If you visit, don’t skip the root chips—they’re absolutely worth ordering, and we’ll definitely be back for more.

This place came highly recommended. Beautiful location on the lake. We sat outside and it was a little chilly in the evening since the sun doesn't hit the patio (we were there at 7pm in June). Basically zero parking but we lucked out as someone was leaving just as we arrived. But be prepared to park on the street and walk. Our waitress, Julie, was amazing. She knew the menu front & back, told us about the history of the place and was very attentive. We did order based on her suggestions. Hubby had the roast beef sandwich (said it was the best he's ever had). I had the Pesto Chicken which was delicious and not too heavy. Drinks were a little watered down (might have been the choices we made 🤷🏼‍♀️) so if I went back I would only order wine or beer. They end each meal with some caramel popcorn to harken back to their early days! ❤️ Overall, great experience, would return if we are in GR again!

Stopped into Rose’s on Reeds Lake and had such a lovely experience. Parking is a mix of a small lot and free street parking, and I was seated quickly. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was one of those classic Michigan days—61 degrees but feeling cooler by the lake—so the hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick was perfect. I ordered the potato‑crusted walleye (an old favorite from my Michigan days), and wow… absolutely outstanding. Truly one of the best walleye dishes I’ve had. A quiet shout‑out to my friend Steve, who recently crossed the rainbow bridge. This visit brought back memories of our stories and explorations. You’re never forgotten, my friend. Beautiful view, great food, and warm service. Highly recommend.

Lunch at Rose’s is always a treat. I came here second time for a friend’s birthday brunch and the food was fantastic as usual. I had the burger and root vegetables. The burger was great and my friends enjoyed their meal as well. The atmosphere is always lively and the view of the lake is worth a visit even in the winter. They don’t accept reservations but their service is very fast and getting a table shouldn’t be too difficult.
